After starting life as an accountant in 1970, David Bennett joined his late Father's stockbroking business in 1980 - the company is currently known as Sasfin
Frankel Pollak Securites (Pty) Ltd (a subsidiary of Sasfin Holdings Ltd / Sasfin Bank Ltd) - and is one of the largest Private Client Stockbrokers in South Africa.
David became a Broking Member of the Johannesburg Stock Exchange and was appointed a Director of Sasfin Frankel Pollak in 1985. In 1990, he became
Director-in-Charge of the Durban Branch of the firm. After 20 years with the Company, David left Sasfin in 2000 to join HSBC Securities (Pty) Ltd as Director-
in-Charge of their Durban Branch.
HSBC Securities was a subsidiary of HSBC Holdings Ltd - the second largest financial company and bank in the World. Another
large stockbroking company, Investec Securities (Pty) Ltd, bought the business of HSBC Securities in South Africa in 2005. Burleigh Investment Management deals
very closely with Investec Securities (Pty) Ltd.
In 2002, David Bennett left HSBC Securities and started his own business, Burleigh Investment Management - Share Portfolio Managers and Investment Advisors.

David Bennett was Chairman of the J.S.E. Broking Members' Group
in KwaZulu-Natal from 1994 to 2002.
David's private interests include fly fishing; military history and collecting
militaria, particularly military medals; ornithology, wildlife and photography.
